If you noticed that I haven't posted in a few days, you are probably thinking that is really unlike Caroline and something must be up. Why, yes. Something is up. Last week, I decided it would be a good idea to drink some milk. I never, ever drink milk, except in my cereal and my coffee. But since I am trying to do a coffee-free month, maybe my body was craving a little dairy. I picked up a small individual serving size of milk, took one sip and had to spit it out! I ran rushing to my friend to see if my tastebuds were off or if I was just experiencing the new organic taste of milk. Well, she poured it out in to the sink and saw it had curdled. Even just hearing her say the word curdled made me get sick! I've been sick ever since!
The funny thing about this story was that the exact same instance happened over ten years ago when I was in high school. I was a junior at Convent and had a basketball game and thought it might be a good idea to get some milk for some energy. I never buy milk. I have never really liked it. Well on the one day that I decided to drink some milk, I was disgusted to find that the milk had gone bad!!!
What I am trying to say is that it is going to be a very looooong time until I get some milk from a cafeteria again! It made me think about the 'got milk?' ads that were so popular when we were younger. I choose this one of Amanda Bynes because I really admired her as a female comedian. Her career was pretty remarkable and I especially loved her in She's The Man (I will probably watch that this weekend!). As a psychology grad student, I couldn't help but be fascinated by her out of control spiral over the past couple of years. I wonder if she's been drinking too much milk or none at all.
From this recent incident, I've decided to limit my dairy experience to cheese and designer cow print items. I love Jeremy Scott's cow print for Moschino. Since becoming creative director of Moschino in 2013, he has created an entire cow print line, a McDonald's line and his most recent collection from fashion week was inspired by Barbie. I feel like his next line will either be Nascar inspired or Olympic inspired.
I sometimes wonder if a cow sees cow print do they think it is a friend? I am going to have to get these perfect printed pieces and experiment on my next drive to Sonoma. From this bad milk experience I am trying to decide if I want to do a cleanse or try being vegan for a month. What do you think?
