PERFECT PROTECTION.

If you were a lounge singer at a Reno casino night club and you were hiding from your dangerous boyfriend, where would you go? To a Catholic church, of course. Sure enough, this exact situation happened to Dolores Van Cartier played by Whoopi Goldberg in "Sister Act." If you are not familiar with this movie, or its amazing sequel, stop what you are doing and immediately turn this movie on. It will change your life.

Sister Act had tremendous influence on my life for so many reasons. First, it was filmed in San Francisco at St. Paul's church. This is where my dad, uncle, aunts, and cousins all attended. Secondly, it always helped me win the ice breaker "two truths and a lie" because I would always say my grandma was in Sister Act, which everyone thought was a lie, but was actually true (my grandmother was in the audience in the finale). Third, whenever an unsuitable suitor was hitting me at a bar, I would say my name was Dolores Van Cartier and give him a fake number. Can you even imagine what he thought when he googled my name? That still makes me laugh!

Jesse and I live two blocks away from the church and walk by it almost every day. I can't help but sing, "if you want to be somebody, if you want to go somewhere, you better wake up and pay attention" (from Sister Act 2: Back in the Habit with Lauryn Hill).

Here are the perfect 10 pairs for Dolores, and anyone else, hiding in a Catholic church to avoid your mobster boyfriend (they are all black and white to match the habit).
