PERFECT PROMISE.

A few nights ago I had a lot of work to get done so I stayed in to watch a movie and eat Ben & Jerry's. I started watching "Jobs" with Ashton Kutcher but it was hard to get through the first five minutes because I felt like I was watching Kelso introduce the iPod. So I decided to watch "The Vow" because I've been wanting to see it for a while. Every time I go to The DryBar they are playing it and I try really hard not to watch it because it's SO sad.  I can't help it-- I end up reading the subtitles and start to tear up and then I have to force myself to look away.

Since I'd seen pieces of it I knew the storyline but that did not help the uncontrollable tears that started pretty much from the beginning. I COULD NOT STOP CRYING!!!! It was a little surprising how strong my reaction was to this movie. It is an absolutely heart breaking story. A darling couple, who is very much in love, is forced to start over when a car accident leaves the wife with a brain injury and memory loss. She doesn't remember her husband. I think I started to lose it when she's in the hospital and she is asking her husband questions because she thinks he's the doctor <insert sobbing emoji here>.

The movie came out in 2012 and I'm glad I finally had the opportunity to watch it in its entirety (I guess I'm a little behind on my movie watching). This is the perfect movie for when you just want a good cry, but be prepared! I was feeling great texting with my friend Sheila about Paris when, all of a sudden, I was full on sobbing from this movie. So of course I had to shower and re-watch it.

It made me think about how powerful love is and how grateful I am to be married to such a wonderful man. Lately, we've been so busy that our lives are less like "The Vow" and more like "Married with Children" but I know we have a very deep love and this busyness is temporary. I'm also very grateful to be in a profession that enables me to work with couples on their marriage, but hopefully I never hear something as heartbreaking as this.

To cheer up after literally sobbing 2 liters of tears, I decided to look up perfect pairs for a wedding day when making a perfect promise to your partner.
