PERFECT PILATES.

Being so busy, it is hard to get to the gym and get in a great work out. Luckily with the great weather that we've been having in the city, I've been able to spend a lot of time outdoors running, biking, and hiking. Living in San Francisco, a sunny day is a real treat and is just that-- a day. We never know how many consecutive sunny days we will have and have to live each one to the fullest.

I had a training for my USF Internship on Saturday from 9-1. I swear that I am jinxed. Every time I have a class on Saturday it turns out to be gorgeous. After sitting in class for a few hours I feel stiff, tight, and tired. The last thing I want to do is go for a run or go on the elliptical. To keep my blood flowing and energy up I like to put on a Pilates video on YouTube through our Apple TV. I usually do a 30 or 45 minute video and feel better immediately.

One of my favorite things to do in the fall and winter months when it is just so cold is head to our gym and swim in the pool and then sit in the sauna. It is a great workout and I love the way it loosens all of my muscles, especially my hips. I've always loved swimming but wanted to take it from a recreational hobby to a true workout. Two summers ago I took swimming lessons at UCSF Mission Bay and had the best time! My instructor said I had real potential! I loved learning how to be more efficient and use correct form. I'm looking forward to construction being finished and the UCSF indoor pool opening back up!

The one drawback to swimming is how harsh the chlorine is on my skin and hair. Here are my perfect products for swimmers!
