Last week I had the pleasure of meeting Jillian Bremer, the talented, gorgeous, creative, personable, ambitious woman behind Sweet and Spark. We met for happy hour at Elite Cafe on Fillmore and after a few minutes of talking I knew two things: that I really liked her and that Sweet and Spark is going to be the next big thing!
I wanted to share the spark with everyone so I asked Jillian the perfect 10 questions. Check out her answers below!! Make sure you check out her newly redesigned website (she unveiled it yesterday)!!!
1.) Where are you from originally? New York.
2). Where did you go to college? Syracuse University.
3.) How long have you been doing Sweet and Spark? I started lifestyle blogging under the name in April 2011 as a break from life on the road as an apparel buyer. I re-launched almost 2 years ago as a vintage jewelry brand!
4.) Where are your favorite places to go spark hunting? Each town has it's own uniqueness. Florida is great in the winter and upstate New York in the Summer. I love the thrill of the hunt, you just never know what you're going to find (if anything at all). There's one constant with the chase, vintage costume jewelry is competitive so in order to find the best stuff you have to be up at the crack of dawn.
5.) What is your favorite part about working for yourself? I love living a flexible lifestyle. Sometimes I take a nap in the middle of the day and sometimes I work on Saturday nights but, I consider my "job" also my hobby so it's hard to ever fully power down.
6.) What are you most excited about in the next five months? I'm excited about all of the possibilities and meeting new people, that's what keeps me fueled.
7.) What size shoe are you? 7.5
8.) What's your favorite restaurant in the city? Kokkari
9.) Who is your style icon? Olivia Palermo, whom has also been spotted wearing one of our statement necklaces!
10.) Are you more sweet or spark? Depends on the day :)
Here are four perfect pieces that I absolutely love from Sweet and Spark. You know I love a good pearl necklace, so I picked two of my favorites. She has a wide variety of pieces, perfect for everyone's taste!
