If you read yesterday's post you probably think one of two things- wow, I am glad Caroline shared that info about the blogging industry, or wow-- this lady is a blogger scorned and she's just jealous she couldn't make it BIG!
However you walked away from yesterday's post, I just want you to know that there are some really, really great things to blogging and whenever anyone asks me if they should start a blog or are looking for guidance on how to grow their blog, I always help in any way I can. I don't want readers to think I am ungrateful or unhappy, if anything I hope you know that I am eternally grateful and thankful for all of the opportunities that blogging has given me and my family. So, I wanted to share some of the greatest things about blogging.
The people I have met. I have met so many wonderful people through blogging and as a true extrovert I couldn't be more thrilled. I've met other great bloggers who are creative and passionate, as well as so many wonderful women who work at PR agencies, events, and brands.
The stories I get to hear. When I was sharing my weekly pregnancy updates (read them here), I received some of the most heartwarming and sadly, heartbreaking stories from moms who just needed someone to talk to. It is such a privilege that people want to share with me.
The companies I get to see grow. Meeting with female entrepreneurs has always been incredibly rewarding and inspiring and I love seeing their companies grow.
The experiences I get to have. Gosh, this part is especially wonderful and something I never take for granted. Even before my blog, I felt happiest when I was out and about exploring and just doing things. Getting to experience the Eloise Suite, Camp Covert, Bacara and more all make me so grateful.
The skills I have developed. I have loved learning all about photography, web development, business development and more. When success falls entirely on your shoulders, you want to learn and do as much possible to improve your skill set.
The knowledge I have gained. I've learned so much about blogging, SEO, and all of those other marketing buzzwords you always hear.
A digital memory book. I love that I can share some of our most special memories on here and look back at them in years!
Free stuff. Jesse is probably more excited about this than I am, but it's true-- I get a lot of free stuff. I don't really go shopping anymore because I am gifted a lot of items. This is something I will never take for granted. The clothes I receive for Lillian are my favorite!
A time capsule for our family. I love the idea that my children can look back at this when they're young adults and get a glimpse of what I was like as a young mom! Oh what I would give to be able to pop into my mom's mind as a young mom!!
Professional portfolio. Having a place that showcases a lot of my work always helps when looking for new professional opportunities and it's one of the reasons why I always recommend young professional blog-- it helps set you apart.
Support for my new company! I am especially grateful for my blog because it has allowed me a platform to share a little bit about my new company, which will be launching very soon!!
Thanks for following along on this blogging journey!!
